As a friendly reminder, the RRSP Contribution Deadline for the 2023 tax year is February 29th, 2024. For clients looking to take advantage of this offer, we have provided a list of dates below that should be considered to ensure any contributions made before February 29th, 2024 are properly attributed to the 2023 tax year.
Contributions made by deposit request: Contribution requests made via the Deposit request form must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM EST on February 26th, 2024. Contributions should be made by electronic funds transfer to allow for sufficient processing time for our back-office. Contributions can also be made by cheque or via bill payment on an online banking platform, however we cannot guarantee that these contributions will be processed before the deadline.
Contributions made by in-cash transfers: Contribution requests made via the Internal Money Movement request form which are to be made in-cash must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM EST on February 14th, 2024, to allow for sufficient processing time by our trade desk and back-office, and for proper settlement of funds. Please note that even if the account that the contribution is being made from has sufficient cash to fund this request, we strongly recommend that requests are still submitted before the cut-off date in order for smooth processing and to avoid any unnecessary delays.
Contributions made by in-kind transfers: Contribution requests made via the Internal Money Movement request form which are to be made in-kind must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on February 26th, 2024, to allow for sufficient processing time by our back-office and proper settlement of funds.
Please note that any contributions made which do not adhere to the above timelines and cut-off dates will still be processed within our regular service standards timeline, however these requests will be processed on a best-efforts basis and we cannot guarantee that the requests will be processed in time for the 2023 tax-year RRSP contribution deadline.
